The art of painter Gerard Mooy (Krommenie, The Netherlands, 1957) is inspired by his everyday surroundings.
Mooy is known for his characteristic, powerful, small format oil paintings (30 x 30 cm on average)
In his own words: “Every day I go out and take in the landscape: ditches, dikes, trees, the sky….. It all begins with these rambles. I aim to capture the day’s heartbeat in my paintings. Sometimes, I make sketches, but mostly I store the impressions in my mind and put them on canvas in my studio”.
His work is included in several art collections, among which the Belvédère Museum.
